About Window Gazing

Founded by Yvonne Toth, whose passion for working with seniors began as a teenage volunteer and evolved into a nearly thirty-year journey through
every level of the field—from activities aide to director of adult day care.

Working primarily within the nonprofit sector, she has spent her career creating meaningful experiences where creativity matters most, especially when large activity budgets don’t exist.

Driven by a deep respect for the dignity of those at every stage of aging, Yvonne advocates for activities that prioritize human connection over complexity.

Why Window Gazing?

When we look out a window, we shift our focus from the internal to the infinite. For older adults, this simple act is profoundly important. It is a moment of cognitive engagement, a way to observe life, and an invitation to remain connected to the community and nature.

Window Gazing was born from the belief that aging should not mean closing yourself off from the world. Window Gazing’s goal is to offer clear, practical aging support ideas, resources to connect with, cognitive health resources, and tailored activities to help seniors and caregivers find meaning in every day.

The view from every window is different, and so is every individual’s journey through aging. By focusing outward, we find reassurance, discover new perspectives, and find the encouragement needed to stay engaged.

Open the curtains. Look out the window. Let the world inspire your next step..
